The Department of History at ¾ÅÉ« has earned a superb national reputation for its impressive graduates and outstanding faculty. We teach our students to be critical thinkers, exceptional writers, and engaged citizens of the world. Through the study of History, a keystone of the Liberal Arts, our students deepen their understanding of how the past informs our present, a necessity for future leaders. As teacher-scholars, our faculty have not only won awards for their teaching, research, and service to the college; they have also received national and international book awards, prestigious research fellowships, and invitations to give talks around the world. They bring their expansive expertise to bear in the classroom, where students learn life-long skills that will help them excel in whatever they choose to do after ¾ÅÉ«.
Fellowships and internships provide hands-on opportunities for students to develop their skills as researchers, writers, and editors under the close supervision of a faculty or community mentor.
